Houghton

Located on the south border of Kirkland, abutting Bellevue, is the older neighborhood of Houghton, parts of which are within walking distance to downtown. It has its own small business district, and is home to Northwest College, a four-year, undergradutate Bible school. Parks here include Everest Park, Terrace Park, Ohde Avenue Park, Houghton Neighborhood Park, and Watershed Park. Homes are newer than both of the West of Market and East of Market neighborhoods, and are therefore more traditional and less beachy in style (also fewer condos and cottage-style homes).
